Behind the Chair

The Barbers

Marcus Bell, master barber

Rafael Delgado

Owner · Master Barber

Rafael — everyone calls him Rafa — opened Happy Face after two decades behind the chair, first in his family's shop and then here in Pine Castle. He learned the trade the old way: scissor-over-comb, hot lather, a straight razor for the neckline. He's the barber for a sharp classic taper, a clean business cut, or gray blending so natural it just looks like good genes. Sit down unsure and he'll ask a few questions and send you out right.

Best for: Classic cuts · Scissor work · Gray blending

Tony Reyes, senior barber

Tony Reyes

Senior Barber

Tony came up in a high-volume shop where you either got fast or got out, and he got fast without cutting corners. Skin fades, burst fades, drop fades, textured crops, and hard-part line work are his home turf, and every edge gets razor-finished so the shape holds for weeks. He keeps up with what younger clients ask for but will talk you out of a trend that won't grow out well. Bring a photo or leave it to him.

Best for: Skin fades · Textured crops · Line-ups

Sam Okafor, barber and beard specialist

Héctor Morales

Barber · Beard Specialist

Héctor is the calm chair. He does understated scissor cuts that look better as they grow, and he's the one to see when your beard needs a plan — shaping a heavy beard, evening out patchy spots, or a full hot-towel straight-razor shave that's more ritual than errand. He works quietly and takes his time; regulars book him for the half hour of not being talked at. New to growing a beard? He'll map it out with you.

Best for: Beard sculpting · Hot-towel shaves · Quiet trims

Andre Costa, barber

Andrés Costa

Barber

Andrés is the shop's modern-styling specialist — book him when you want volume, texture, and a cut that works with product instead of fighting it. Pompadours, flow, longer fringe, curly-hair shaping, and a proper blow-dry finish so you can see how it should sit. He'll show you exactly how much pomade to use and how to get the look at home in two minutes. Great with teenagers who care about their hair and the parents who bring them.

Best for: Modern styling · Curly hair · Longer cuts

Marcos Rivera, barber

Marcos Rivera

Barber

Marcos has been cutting hair longer than most of the staff has been alive and keeps the chair a lot of the shop's older regulars have sat in for years. Clean, simple, no-surprises cuts — short back and sides, flat tops, a tidy trim between full cuts — done properly and never rushed. He's also the best in the shop with kids' first haircuts: patient, quick, and armed with a lot of terrible jokes. Walk-ins welcome on his chair whenever he's open.

Best for: Traditional cuts · Kids' first cuts · Senior & veteran cuts
